The Institute of Physics PhD students fall semester progress review meeting will take place on 28 January from 10:15 in the auditorium A111. It concernes only those who are finishing their first semester, started in a spring semester, or due to an academic leave have not gone through the progress review recently (in summer).
Miniconference of 1st semester PhD students
According to the Faculty of Science and Technology PhD students' progress revew regulatons, the students who were admitted in the 2018/19 academic year, must present a detailed plan of the PhD work and its feasibility assessment at the end of the 1st semester of study. In the Institute of Physics this is carried out in the form a miniconference, where a PhD student has 15 minutes to introduce the plan of the PhD project and its feasibility, including overview of the scientific background, formulation of the main research questions (if possible, giving a vision of the planned articles), discussing methodology and equipment, as well as possible risks in carrying out the project and how to mitigate them. The presentation is followed by questions from the progress review commitee and the audience.
